A shoebox full of treats and useful items could have a huge impact on someone facing homelessness this Christmas. Working in partnership with the Macari Centre, Stoke and Mustard Tree, Manchester, in this festive season of goodwill, we are giving back by preparing small boxes of essentials and gifts which will mean a great deal to those in need. As the country continues to combat the consequences of Covid-19, there are more and more people becoming homeless, so our support is needed more than ever.
We’re asking our team, clients, family and friends to be Santa and donate boxes. The budget is completely flexible, but to give an insight as to what an average box costs we’d estimate a cost of around £10 per box.
For every box donated, Mitten Clarke pledge to contribute a £10 cash donation.
Ideal items to include:
- Food: Chocolate, cereal bar, sweets, cup soup sachets, hot chocolate sachets, tinned food with pull lever, can of pop, biscuits (nothing fresh or alcoholic)
- Clothing: Socks, hat, scarf, gloves, rain poncho, underwear.
- Toiletries: Deodorant, soap, wet wipes, lip balm, toothpaste, toothbrush, hairbrush/comb
- Other items: Ziplock bags, pen, small notepad, wind-up pocket torch
We aim to deliver as many shoeboxes as possible (to really boost that MC cash donation!) and make a huge difference for those less fortunate this Christmas.
If you’d like to get involved and join Team MC on this mission, please feel free to make up and deliver shoeboxes to us at MC HQ by 11 December. For further information on our #ShoeboxAppeal, please contact Jenna Daniels at email@example.com or call her on 01782 279615.
