Our ‘Great Summer Clean Stoke’ is back!

We had great fun last year, collecting 275kg of waste over a 10 mile stretch on the Trent & Mersey Canal. We’ve been inspired by David Attenborough’s Blue Planet, Sky’s #PassOnPlastic and the growing concern with single-use plastics that are damaging our local environment.

Our plan this year is to go even bigger with the help of our local Canal & River Trust team, the Middleport workboat, canoe clubs and the local business community.

What’s the plan for the day?

On Thursday 6 June our adventure will start at Etruria, taking us up to Westport Lake and down to Joiners Square. We’ll be collecting rubbish and plastic in a variety of ways. You’ll be able to hop on canoes, walk along towpaths, and even take a voyage on the Middleport workboat.

We’d love you to get involved. If you or your team would like to join us for a couple of hours or even the day if you can spare the time, please get in touch with Dan Lowndes on dan.lowndes@mittenclarke.co.uk or 01782 279615.

There’ll be some refreshments on us to say thank you for helping us make a difference.
