In what was remarked on as a ‘once in a lifetime opportunity’ by many of the players, the Alice Charity came out as victors over the Peter Pan team in a well fought out game of football at the Bet 365 stadium.
The aim of the day was to raise over £1,500 for the Alice and Peter Pan charities, and with the support of the local business community we did just that, raising over £2,000. This certainly exceeded our expectations, and importantly we’ve been able to raise the profile of both charities.
The Peter Pan centre is a unique charity for pre-school children with special needs. It develops and maximises the potential of children in its care and gives much-needed respite and support to the parents. The £1,000 donated means that 20 children can now begin to use their fantastic facilities and benefit from their team.
The Alice charity supports low-income families who are in much need of support. 25% of all children in Stoke-on-Trent live in low-income families, and their vision is to help them build confidence, take control of their lives and find a purpose. The £1,000 donated will provide their vulnerable children with breakfast for the rest of the year.
Thank you to everyone who came along!
